Default valve covers wont fit...

I installed 1.7 roller rockers from crane cams and now the roller rockers hit my baffle in my calve cover. I cant find a set of taller valve covers. What should I do?? 92 5.0 LX

there are several brands out there that are tall enough to clear the rockers (Ford Motor Sport for 1). The next issue you may have when you put on the taller valve covers is the throttle body/accelerator cable arm may hit the valve cover. If you use the taller valve covers (for most intakes) you also need a spacer between the lower and upper intake.

Alternate, I have 1 engine that I have taken the baffles out of the stock valve covers, if you do this you have to deal with the oil splash at the valve cover openings.

angcobra has the right answer for ya man, get some tall boys on there and a spacer between upper and lower intake. looks just like the gasket you user but like 1/2 " or so type deal. I have 1.6 on mine but my engine came with tallboys on there.

you could grind the baffle down some so they dont hit or get tall covers with a 3/8 - 1 in spacer

thanks for the help, one thing I left out and this may make the difference. I have edlebrock upper and lower intake manifolds part #3821 @ http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...l-inject.shtml

I am not sure if there is a difference in height with the new manifolds.

all I did was take out the baffle under the oil fill snout.

do you have the tall metal spout?
If not be carefull with what you use to cover the spout. Just a breather will allow oil to be thrown out.
