Default Restoration question

I hope I’m in the right section of this forum to ask a body restoration question. The car is an 86’ convertible, red with the flat black GT decal on the hood. The hood decal is showing its age, I flound a source who sells this large decal. I’m planning of having a professional install, my guestion is twofold, has anyone out there done this? I’d appreciate feedback, also, the headlight frames are of the same flat black, is there a spray paint one could recommend to bring these back a bit too? I want to follow the footsteps of someone who’s gone thorough this if possible.
Thanks!

Thanks for the good info. Another thought I had was to take the hood to a body shop (have one in mind) that does this type of work, have them sand it off the decal and spray that area flat black.. then do the headlight area in the same.
Again, thanks
