Default 1993 Hatch Bumper

I'm missing right side hatch bumper on my 1993 GT. I bought ford part# F0ZZ-6140452-A. I believe I have wrong part. Could someone post pic of your right side bumper please 91 or newer..... With the part you see how would you mount this?

Thanks

When I first looked at your picture,I thought it was the wrong part too because I was thinking about the adjustable bumper that sits further down the hatch next to where the taillights are,but you're asking about the bumper that sits higher up,which is about 6 -7" below where the strut/shock mounts to the hatch. To attach the bumper to the hatch, just grab a medium length, somewhat thin in diameter, phillips head screwdriver. The first picture below shows the rubber bumper in a normal resting state. The second picture shows the bumper with a phillips head screwdriver pushing the rubber stud outwards a little bit,so that it moves the stud away from the flat portion on the bumper(that sits against the hatch)
You can also see how the channel opens up once you push the stud outwards with the screwdriver. The channel is the portion of the stud thats thinner in diameter than the rest of the stud. The thin metal around the diameter of the hole in the hatch, where the rubber bumper mounts,is what fits/sits in the channel on the rubber stud.
With the hatch open, insert the screwdriver into the hole on the rubber bumper, push it forcibly so the stud will move outward (away from the flat portion of the bumper) position the bumper against the hatch while continuing to push the stud outward & once its in place, give the screwdriver one last harr push while you barely twist the bumper back & forth and this action should seat the metal into the channel on the rubber stud.Youll see what I mean by "channel" once you view the pics.

Good info I ordered these from LMR for 90-93. Way different from the one I got from ebay, which is for 11/89 older Hatch Mustangs. Had know idea they made different hatch bumpers?

Go back and read my first post again. In the process of me trying to edit somemore info into that post,I accidentally deleted everything I had originally written,so its completely new information with new pics also.I forgot all about that bumper even being there until you posted this thread, thats why I was thinking about the adjustable bumper instead. So yeah, just go back over my original post for instructions.
All you're basically doing is making that rubber stud become longer, temporarily, so it will extend far enough down into the hole in the hatch,to allow the metal to seat completely in the channel around the rubber stud.

I wasn't aware the bumpers were different either, between the 86-93 models.I think these damn engineers make changes like that, in the hundreds, just so we have to buy more parts to bring in more revenue for them.

Yeah theres a big difference between the two, isnt it?? I can definitely see why the 91-93 bumpers would work better. They're flat instead of triangle shaped, where the bumper rests on the body & the flat portion,on the rubber stud side of the bumper,is wider on the later style bumpers, which makes them more supportive to the hatch or thats my theory anyways.

With the 90-93 bumpers are they the same for both sides. They look different in shape?

As far as I can tell, they're identical.I don't know if it's a part number or not,but theres a number embossed into each one of them that reads N806437.As you can see from the picture below, they're identical in size & shape and the fact that the number is the same on both bumpers verifies they're identical.
