Default 5.0 mustang NO POWER post 2 checked timing!

Hi, I am continuing from my last post:

Hi, I bought this nice orange mustang on eBay from a seller with good reputation. But...I dont think he knew what he was doing when he modded this car. It starts up nice, runs good, temp gaudge reads hot, but I think the temp is off. Once its warmed up, you take it out for a spin.

Now i bought a beater 5.0 LX that was very fast, and it burned rubber all over the place. I drive this new orange 5.0 GT and its a complete turd! You can revv the motor to 5 grand and pop the clutch in first and all RPM's drop and the car goes nowhere.

The only internal engine mod he says he put in was a cam, I was told he might have tightened the valve springs too much, or the timing is off, or has no compression etc. I was wanting everyone's opinion on what the problem is, becuase I'm new to the 5.0 scene.

Mods: Cam, spark plug wires, cold air intake, bbk headers, H pipe, mass air computer, ford racing water pump, and more.

Car can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Now, today I checked the timing and re-adjusted it. It was at 16, now its at 12, didn't help at all. Still runs very hot, last owned tried to cool it down but failed, he put ford racing water pump in, low 170* thermastat, blah. I took the plugs out, they were totally white. Any suggestions? Thanks!

White suggest it's running lean, which will also run hot. Something is screwing up the air to fuel ratio. Are the O2 sensors screwed up? Has a different chip tune been put in it that could screw up the air to fuel ratio? Is the mass air flow meter screwed up? Is there a vacuum leak? Also with regard to running hot, are the catalytic converters still on it, and if so, are they plugged up? That can kill power and run the engine hot in a hurry. Constipation is not good for an internal combustion engine.

I wonder if the guy got the valve timing off when he put in the cam. When a chain jumps, often the car will run hot with no power. Maybe he was off by a couple of teeth, with a similar result.
Let us know what you figure out....
