my car has started a weird backfire/popping only between 4 and 5 on the tack,i did find a vacuum line that was off,so i put it back on,and something tripped the check engine light,the egr line was never off or moved,so thats ok,but i did some switching on the lines and now the car is better,and the light doesn't come on now,but the weird quick throttle high rev backfire/popping is still happening,but only between 4 and 5 on the tach,and only under super fast throttle.....anyone had a similar experience?something to check maybe? 94 cobra ...long tube headers,no cats,no smog,bbk cold air,flow masters,off road h pipe,3:73's,pro 5.0 shifter,180 t stat....thats all ,for now.....b cam and suspension in the next couple of months

take off the battery cables for 10 mins.if you got it right should correct prob.

Does it happen when it's warm? or only cold? Also check timing?

my car did the same thing when i set the timing to 14, when i would go wot at high rpm it would pop; but at 13 it does not do it.
