I know they make 2-piece timing covers for chevys so you dont have to remove the balancer to remove the cam...i dont know if they have 'em for ford but its worth looking into....

If you dont already have one go buy a new timing set theyre a pain in the *** to change and if your motor has any miles change it while its apart.</P>
It depends on how good you are. If it's your first time doing it, Take your time. DOn't rush. That a vital piece of the motor your playing with. A fu%$ up can be costly.
Get a chiltons manual or a haynes just as a guide while your doing it.</P>
