Going to the junkyard soon to buy some door handles to replace the ones on my 93 5.0. The drivers side is completely gone and the passengers is barely hanging on. What i'm wanting to ask is.. can I just put the handles on or do I need/have to take the whole door apart to get them on?

Supposedly the girl/guy who had it before me lifted up too hard on the drivers side and it just ripped/broke off.

you will need to take the panel off to get to the backside. they are put on with rivets so you will probally have to drill them out. i just put mine back on with some small nuts and bolts

i would buy new steel ones you can get them off eBay for cheap with the new rivets to install them

i would definatly get the new steel ones. they have a nice finish and they will last a whole lot longer than those plastic junkyards ones. you wouldnt have to take the door apart to put them on, but its gonna be hard to get the actualy linkage in the new handle if you dont. i couldnt find a good gun, so i used nuts and bolts. the bolts i used had allen heads, so i drilled them out once installed tightly.

Those are the only ones I found on eBay. I searched for 5.0 door handles and thats the only exterior handles on there.

Is that what i'm looking for or are they different? Im not a big fan of chrome so I hope there are different ones.

Nvm I found some black steel ones.

i got mine from autozone. they gave me the crap plastic ones first, then a SMART employee gave me the steel ones on warranty when the plastic ones broke. 50resto.com also has the steel ones i believe. MAKE SURE YOU GET METAL HANDLES!!!!!! and yes, you must take the inner door panel off, which is quite simple.
