302 order -> 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
351w order -> 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

i have read that if you were to use a 302 cam in a 351w and an efi set up it will run with switching the dist. wires but not very well. and to fix the problem you need a new computer to correct the injector firing order.

All 351W blocks before 1972 came with 4 bolt mains. Im pretty sure that they are called D4 blocks (someone correct me if Im wrong). The blocks after that were lighter but they were only 2 bolt.

yeah the 5.0 HO like in are cars has the same firing order as a 351, the early 302 is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, so that means nothing has to be done to the ecu.

Aluminim rods not a good idea unless you like changing rods out. They have a very short lifespan compared to forged steel......
