Well today was a bad day. driving my car kinda hard shut it off then went to a drive and i notice when i put it in over drive it acks like its in N. Well it wont grap so i reved it to like 4 grand and it grabed and it made a weird grinding nose so now i have no O/D. So these 3.73 gears are going to kill my gas miliege. So what should i check or do i have to pull 1200$ out of my *** for a over hauled tranny. thanks

mhmm yes a couple of times i didnt think it would hurt it. So what should i do?

You band is gone! You will be speding a good deal on getting the tranny overworked. Mine went out this summer but that wasn't from punching it in OD it had 120,000 miles on it. Never punch it in OD. That's what wears it out faster than anything else. Always click down then go.

if you plan on keeping the car spend 2000 and build a tranny that will last.
mech diode, with 2" kelar o/d band, good clutches and steels, good lentech valvebody, a or a+ servo. and a good custom converter.

dont forget big big tranny cooler.

Well is it hard to overhaul a transmission? I think i might just buy one and replace it I wonder how much that will run?

Servicing an AOD isn't hard but a lot can go wrong if you don't do it right. I am just finishing up a class on rebuilding automatics and the first one we did was ford aod. Its very simple to do but lots of measurements must be made and some special tools are required.
