shock towers
my shock towers are rusting away(badly) and i was wondering if there was a place where i can get new ones, and would it be better if i did it myself or if i took it to a shop, and where my floor pans and firewall meet its really bad too( think i should do that myself?) i would really like to get all the rust fixed undeneath too, or should i just buy a rolling chassis that is rust free(think it would be cheaper)thanks for your input guys

RE: shock towers
for the shock towers you should bring it to a metal shop so they can cut out those and weld in new ones.im not shure if they sell shock towers, i think the metal shop would have to fab some up there selves

RE: shock towers
It depends on how far you are willing to go. My 88 was the biggest rust bucket ever but thank god 90% of everything was all surface rust. I chizzled all of the sound detanor up and now removing ALL the rust with a 3' wire wheel. Very frustrating and difficult but its getting down and when its finished the whole car will be virtually rust free. Im not sure how bad your rust is but I know for me I will put in a good est. 70 hours in sanding down the interior and motor bay. Atleast. It all depends on how dedicated you would like to be with the car.
