what is the rest of your combo?

those lift ratings are a representation of how much cam the spings can handle....

If the car is going to be a DD, I'd keep lift to no more than .520 with my cam selection, which is well within the range of the springs in the heads.

You really wouldnt have to go with a custom grind cam anyway. If your setup isnt too radical than you pretty much can always find a cam that will suite your needs. Try looking into Comp Cams and Crane Cams. They have MANY cams to choose from that will fit your needs.

it really all depends on what you wanna do with the car: street rod, track car, daily driver.... the lift numbers on the head represent how much lift the springs can take. if you have any type of emissions laws to pass your best to stay under .5 lift. but basically the springs on the eddie heads can handle most of the stuff that is thrown at them.

looks at a used set of alum heads..you can even find some already gasket matched....your cam will be base on other mods, gearing ,etc....your can need to match the rpm range of the heads, intake, etc with gears also in it as well...just remember smaller is better
