Default RE: couple of questions of 351 conversion

1) Your injector size all depends on what kind of parts you are going to use and how much power you are going to be putting out.

2) You can run any size throttle body that you wish. I would prefer 70mm or bigger. 70 is a good start though.

3) Fuel Pump- depends on how much power you are putting out & what kind of setup you are running.

4) Headers - sign up for ebay because they will NOT fit.

5) Heads- if money is available go with aluminum heads. DEF.

6) Compression sounds good for a all motor setup w/ nitrous. You can change your compression depending on how agressive you want the car to be.

7) Cam- depending on how agressive you want it to be but I would go with the X.

8) I would go with nitrous. Nothing too big though. If you do 351, x cam, aluminum heads, its going to push out alot of power.

Now, what kind of block are you going to be running with this setup? D4? 2 bolt? 4? Out of what year Ford?
What kind of block work do you plan on doing? Pistons-Forged? Crank-Forged? Rods?

forged pistons forged bottom end i hope if my bank account allows it(and girlfriend)
if i don't have the money for the alumnium heads would the ported stock heads be good enough too

if your talking stock ported e7's than that is going to make a lot less power than something like a afr or trick flow. i would say the best flowing small block head would be a boss 302 head, but thats not going to work unless you want to spend a lot of money.

So you should save your money and go aluminum. Shed ALOT of weight off your front end also. I would like to hear about a roller conversion also if anyone has any info.

Im pretty sure most of the 351's before 1972 came with a 4 bolt main, they were heavier but could handle more power. Im pretty sure that the 351 blocks before 1972 were called the "D4" blocks. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

you dont need a 351 to make 350-400hp. a 306 with Trick Flow's performance package could get you that.

you know i mean 350-400 rwph right
and it would be less money to get a 351 then buying the trick flow track heat kit like i had already thought about doing, a 351 with little mod will get me to my goal

sry but your wrong on this, you alredy have the 302 in your car now, and you are going to need good heads, thats going to cost you, because the stockers are not going to get you to your goal. so it would be cheeper to build your 302 over your 351 but the 351 will make more power.
