Mass air?
From what I've been told 87 and 88 GT's did not come with Mass air. Is it better to have this? Why is it better or not? If it is can a guy put this in? and what all do I need to do it? Thanks for any help.

RE: Mass air?
You can get a mass air conversion kit w/ a CAI for around $600 bucks from AMPerformance.com. I should be one of your first upgrades if you want good power on a speed density car. And yes you can instill it yourself.

RE: Mass air?
'88's from cali did have mass air, but no others, no , you do not "need" it.
speed density cars ran quicker anyway, if all stock.
mass air cars have better drivabilty when modded.
basically the mass air sensor, harness, and computer
personal preference really. i never had a speed density car, my '88 was from cali, so i have no personal experience.

No, its def. not a necessity. But if you want to do cam, heads, intake, bla bla bla its def. a good investment. If you are just going to put an exhaust and a CAI on it than I wouldnt worry about it.
