sry quik i did not know we were talking about a race car, and i just put my 2 cents in, and its proven that most set ups with most cars run better with mufflers than without

oh yea and most run better with a 2.5 setup but with a turbo car like he claims. they truely dont need small pipes or mufflers. but since mufflers are requirements so why not go large where its not much restriction. i vote 3' all day long on a turbo stang

thats fine, but im just saying i think it would run better with a 2.5 pipe, you do not need to go any bigger IMO because its not like its a single 2.5 its duel. and the clearince under the car with a 2.5 pipe is tight in some spots, and a 3inch would be even tighter

yes for a NA car or SC but turbo cars dont really benefit to much from exhaust. most run dumps anyways but if you need an exhaust go large. the buddy of mine with the TT331 has dual 3' . ive seen a single 4' befor also

a single 4 is nothing to brag about, a duel 2.5 is bigger than a single 4, and your buddy with the tt331 did he have a 2.5 and dyno it with that and get the 3 and dyno it again?

yea he had a dual 2.5 on there then went to the dual 3' and picked up power

and have you ever seen 4' its huge for a pipe. yes there is larger but still its huge. i seen it on a 99 SS. you may of seen the car on HorspowerTV a few times. it was on the one show where they were doing highlights of different track days. he was doing a wheelie. it was a pewter SS with a 3 inch SS ram air hood. the pewter SS has purple/charcoal marbel flames on the front. its the same show that has a 98 TA on the dyno that has 18' 5 stars on it and on windshield says year one. both of those are my buddys

the TA is now a Turbod 370 LS1 ironblock
and the SS is now a T Rex cam 6 speed

worth less info but none the less cool to have buddies caught on film

Before you order your catback, a word of advice is to get straight through mufflers. Chambered mufflers on a turbo mustang is a no no. There are countless dyno graphs on turbo mustang forums of mustangs gaining 30rwhp with just going from chambered mufflers to straight through mufflers. Just food for thought..

Eh. Single 4 flows more than dual 2.5's. A 4 inch diam circle has about 11 square inches more surface area than two 2.5 inch diam circles, meaning it will flow more. Just thought i'd point that out.

yeah for turbo cars the larger and more free flowing the exhaust, the better.
