With 14* timing you should not have any detonation

Timing advance doesn't do much of a difference unless you got a much modded car. You'll get maybe 3-4 hps maximum I believe. If you really want your timing advance to be worth it, get yourself a good ignition package such as MSD or Performance Distributors' Firepower (which I got and I really recommend it). 14* timing on a boosted ignition does make a difference though. There's this article on the net with a review of the PDF package, check it out The guy states that he did try MSD and Accel before and felt a difference over those two, interesting

I just took my car to a dyno, and with lowering my fuel pressure, and raising my timing to 17 degrees it gained me 20 horsepower, and 21 torque.

tell you what, drive your stang for a while with the timing set at 10 degrees, then raise it to 15 degrees, you will feel the power difference.

unless your motor is very tired.
but my old motor had 250000kms on it and I ran 11 bottles of nitrous through it and I could still feel a difference.
not as much as a 75 shot, but you can still feel it.

my notch prefers 11* and my hatch actually liked 15*

you have to play with timing to see how it likes it

very interesting, I didnt advancing timing could do that much! What did you lower your fuel pressure too? What FPR did you use? Im very interested!!
