supercharger
I am considering a supercharger, I am looking at a 6 psi or a 9 psi. Which would be a better buy for a stock bottom end 92 5.0 LX? Also do I need injectors? If so which ones?
The kit I am looking at is this.

Anything else I am going to need?

RE: supercharger
looks just like a vortech kit. id go with the 9lbs kit. if you get the 6lbs kit youll get bored with it quick. i went right to 9lbs and im already board. you said the bottom end is stock, but what about the rest of the motor? dont get the fmu, just get a 255lph pump and injectors large enough to handle the hp and then have it dyno tuned. i run 42# injectors but if you dont have many mods id get 30# but be sure to have it dyno tuned
my custom 4" intake will go in within the next few days. hope to pick up 20-30hp. depends on the boost increase.

My engine: eldelbrock performer intake upper and lower, ported and polished e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, mac 70mm throttle body, short ram intake, msd dizzy, headers, full exhaust, 4.10 gears, electric fan, no smog pump, no a/c. thats IT.

if you still have stock compression ratio, which you should unless you machined the heads down, i would run 15# of boost, intercooled. a lot of people will say that the engine cant handle that much boost but its the bottom line that counts and even 15# wont put you over the hp limit of the block. i run 9# with 9.6:1 compression and i was working on my 4" intake tonight. will get back to it tomorrow or the day after. im hoping for 2# jump. then to keep temps down ill be spraying methanol into the boosted air. i have a vortech so the only way for me to cool the air is the very expensive vortech aftercooler, n2o, or methanol. or i can plumb up an intercooler but it wouldnt look right with the way the vortech head unit points stright back. is there a reason you want a ford sc? procharger is a great company and so is vortech.

RE: supercharger
i dont run an fmu but my engine is dyno tuned. the fmu sits in the fuel return line. as boost is created, the fmu pinches the fuel return line shut. the more boost you make the more it pinches. this forces the fuel pressure up so that you get more fuel into the engine as it makes boost. without a dyno tune, you will absolutely need it.
the ford 6psi kit costs the same as the vortech 6psi kit

Ok, so what does a "dyno tune" do for you? Should you have one done anyway after you mod your car? How does it work?
