I got my stock 144k miles 5-speed 86 to go 14.601 @ 93MPH on Kuhmo 711s 245/45R17s...with just 3.73s, Tri-Ax shifter, sub frames, FFRP C springs, 180 t-stat, power shifting, and full exhaust on an 85 degree very humid day. I got 2.045 60ft times running like 22PSI. I only launched at like 1800 RPM. Stock shocks also. On a cooler day it may have been better. With a fresh motor, even better, that's for next spring, though.

The long tube headers you have too much "flow" for the amount of horse power your putting out.....or not putting out yet . Your motor needs a certain degree of back pressure to run efficiently. Even with a supercharger and intake w/ heads shorite headers would be ok, not the beast choice but it would be plenty fast with and off-road H or X pipe, you'll prob wanna up the cubic inches before you a run those long tubes.

I think the long tube headers are the way to go. More torque at lower RPM with them. you'll have enough back pressure as long as you have mufflers on it....

heres an example im running the stock headers and producing decent times. do you actually think if i went with a LT i would benefit? i doubt it. it will probably hurt me some at this point in time

I would guess with the mods. especially the gears you could get high 14's low 15's. Your biggest restriction IMO are those E6 heads. If on a tight budget, E7's with some 1.7 rr would work are aren't that expensive.

you won't. i have no idea where this myth is coming from.

i have used shorty, stock and long tube headers on all (5) of my 5.0's and the lt's were by a long shot the best. sound and performance.

if you get a sticky tire, you will run mid 13's, or at least capable of it. there is more to a fast et than a fast car.

but to at least break into the 13's you should be able to do, fairly ez. it's ALL ABOUT TRACTION.

So, does this mean that with a stock engine, having cutouts will not help?? Then, running stock exhaust is better off??? Confused, but trying to learn.

depends on lots of things i'de say but myself pulled a 14.5 with my bone stock 91 gt, wasn't 1 thing done to the car at all. mind you that was the best time after afew passes. ranged from 14.5 to 15.2.

While we are on the topic what do you guys think for my new setup for times.

engine=306/power plus upper/lower/24 lbs injectors/comp cams 1.6 roller rockers/c&l 76mm/forget brand of heads think world class designed by rousch/je pistons/eagle rods/ stud gurdle for bottom end/flowmasters/mac h pipe with hi flow cats/

I have no gear yet dammit and need to upgrade fuel pump also. my buddy got 12.5 on engine and 11.60 with spray. What do yous think for me with times? without the gear/nos/fuel pump and with the still needed parts. note he had lx coupe and i have 91 gt hatch.
