I was thinking the same thing. Put a fuel pressure guage on there, load up your motor, and see what the needle is doing.

I'm no carb expert but here is what happened to me once. I adjusted the float on my secondary so there was no fuel getting into the bowl and it did and sounded exactly like you describe your car doing on WOT. Brought it back home and readjusted the float and it worked perfectly after that.

I am pretty sure the Proform deal is for a DP carb. I never really paid any attention to vacume carbs though

What are the vacumn readings on the car?
Check for leaks in the intake/carb base.
I concur, squirter way to big....
