I recently raced one of my friends who has an 02 Gt and I have a 93 Lx hatch 5.0. Were both bone stock and he's stick and im auto. I raced him using the "1 d 1 shuffle" and i was on his rear bumper so close that i almost hit him. Is it that he cant drive or is my car pretty fast. I was under the imprssion that the 99-04 Gt's were a pretty good deal faster than 5.0's. Can someone tell me wats up?

Part of it is that he can't drive, but think about it, you're only pushin like 25 hp less than he is. he really isn't going to win by that much. And then there's the fact that you have a stock AOD, if you get some 3.73s or 4.10s you'd smoke him.

those GT's claim to make 260hp and 302tq. thats more than a 25hp difference.

I have a friend with a 2002 gt, with only a mild superchips program, 4.10 gears and a bigger throttle body, he runs a 14.01 @98mph consistently.

he beat me everytime on motor, my car is stripped and his still had the spare tire, and a sub in it.


I think your buddy doesnt know how to drive, he has a 5 speed and better gears.

Was this from a dead stop? Maybe he had no traction off the line. With equal drivers, that car should have beat you by 2 car lengths.

every 100 lbs= 1 tenth = 1 car length
