Difference in mid pipes
Ok guys heres a question. Right now my cobra has a catless h-pipe, but because of emissions i need cats. So i decided to get a catted x-pipe since i was told they generally make more power than the H. My question is should i expect any difference in the sound of my car. Is it going to be quiter or generally the same, more mellow or raspy. I was just curious.

The search funtion is you're freind, since this is one of them topic's that has been beat to death then ressurected then beat again.
But a quick overall summary.
H pipe,deep mellow sound,good power,everybody has them.
X pipe, more high pitched, maybe raspy all depends on the cat back, little power increase in the upper rpm range, different.

i have the h. with the flows it gets deep as hell at about 2,200. why not find a full exhaust system out of a junkyard, slap it on during smog, than take it off? could be a pain in the ***.

Just get the catted X, depending on what catback you have with the O/R H it's going to sound raspier and a little more tamed (quieter) with your new catted x pipe. It'll still sound great no matter what. What cat-back ya got?
