i have a track lock i think was made for an explorer. it has 31 spline axles. i have it in my car but it could be better. id like to save some money if possible and not go out and buy an eaton (even though i know they are great). ive heard that you can add a disc and clutch to the track lock and it will work a lot better. is this true? can i do this myself in my driveway (never opened a diff up before). i still have the stock track lock in my garage (had it changed out cause it was worn out). could i use the clutches from my old track lock or can i buy a $50 rebuild and use those? if i cant do it, can i take it to some one or will they tell me it requires custom work? the guy i had rebuild the rear axle is supposed to be the best in my area but hes closed today so i cant call and ask him about it
