Default RE: heater issues...

alright so I haven't gotten a chance to change the thermostat, but today I was really getting on it (racing another mustnag) and when I got off the freeway I noticed the car was a little hotter, so I threw the heater on and when I swith it to the vents it did not blow out of there. I would only blow through the defroster. Any ideas?

The HVAC is controled by vacuum from the motor. If you vent doesn't change when you switch it from defrost to vent to floor etc. Then you probably have a vacuum leak.

Vacumm leaks are such a pain in the butt. This is just bringing back really bad memories. It could be an easy fix, I'm just thinking about my old motor. There wasnt one vacumm line that didnt leak... [:@]

Was up every one, it's been a while since I posted anything in here.... any how Ever since I got my car the heater never really worked to well. It comes on and everything, but it does not blow hot. When set to the hottest it blows kinda warm, but higher I set it the colder it gets. Any Ideas?? All the hoses are hooked up I've checked that already. thanks
Could be a few things, your heater control valve (what actually controls the flow of antifreeze/water through the heater core) could be bad or the vacuum line that attaches to the control valve has a leak and doesn't open the valve all the way. The heater control valve is under the dash inline with the heater or in the engine compartment right before the water lines hit the firewall. It'll have an inlet and outlet and a vacuum line attached to the valve body.

Check them

if you have a small clog reverse the heater core lines and itll blow through but if its serious blockae replace it if any one ever ran stop leak through the radiator itll mess the h/c up

I"m gonna check the control valve to see if maybe that is it. Hopefully it is something easy to find and fix. Cross your fingers guys!![&:]

when i bought my car last year i decided i would flush the cooling system with a garden hose and i flushed some nasty stuff out, so then i decided to go ahead and do the heater core so i disconnected the hoses to the heater core, but when i tried to twist one of the ends around to put the garden hose on it the hose broke free and pulled out from the firewall. %$#@ is what i was saying lol, anyways I bypassed my heater core and wish I had fixed it this summer. Be gentle i wish i was.
