starts right up but wont

starts right up but wont
my friend has at 89 gt, and all of the sudden one day he went to start it, and it starts right up and will idle for 10 seconds then die, and in the time of idle, if u get it gas it dies, the psi is about 40 and it has plenty of spark, any ideas?
