When buying how many miles is
if it gets tired and throws a rod, yeah he'll need a whole motor...if it just wear out, (ex.. very very low comp.) he could rebuild it...bored it out, get bigger pistons to fit new bore etc....

When buying how many miles is
I bought my car it had 89K i like low miles but not to low a car has to driven if nof you will have odd problems on a fox body mustang 93 or older stick with 50k up. anything less the car will have problems you normaly wouldn't

You have to make sure the car was maintained fiarly well. From experience don't but any car if the owner tells you of any problems, usuallymore problems exist.

aslo sub frame connecters are a must for a old stang if the guy really bets on it with out them it twists the frame.

Make sure it is basiclly stock you will be better off, than you can mod it the way you want.

Stay away from drag cars and lots of mods unless the work looks like it was done properly

Good luck

Yeah, i recently just got like 10 grand handed to me, plus if i sell my old car i can get about 3 grand.

So that sums it up to 13 grand, i was hopeing to buy a stock mustang with like 70k for about what 6-7k(that'd be pretty low)- and then throw about 6k worth of mods into it. I'd love to have a project car, and the mustang is the ultimate one.

down here in florida i can hardly pull out of my driveway w/o hearing a fart can fly by. That and all of the "Ricers" Are in this cheesy car clubs called like "No limit", "Lightning Fast" "Explicit Concepts" Horrible names that i just laugh at. It would give me so much pleasure to roll up in a beast of a car and just kick the ever loving s**t out of them.

Anyways i'll stop yapping, thanks for the input, you guys are like 24/7 tech support.

When buying how many miles is
My 89 lx coupe had 55,000 on it originally and had been in an airplane hanger for 7 years.Since then i drove it until it had 103,000 with the 2.3 and the a4ld then i yanked them in favor of a 331 stroker and a fully built c4 and now i 5,000 on the engine and tranny and 108,000 on the body and it was painted for a third time the year before last.

Basically what im saying is there is no answer to that question because you have no idea how it was treated. It could have had a hell of a beating for the time it was owned or it could have been someones pride and joy and been treated to the best like mine was.In fact my stang hasnt even ever seen snow or rain.So all i can say is be careful and have it fully checked out if you are unable to determine its condition.I have a few friends that work in dealerships so thats where i take the cars friends and family are thinking of getting and have them check it out and give me in writing what is or isnt right.

When buying how many miles is
I bought my 1987 GT in 1994 with 100,000 on it. It now has 206,000 on it, and it still runs really strong. Let me tell you, those second 100,000 were hard as hell on it. I have autocrossed the car many times. It was my college car, so you know I did some stupid stuff with it. I've been in handcuffs because of it.

Yes, some stuff has broken on it, and some stuff will continue to break on it. But, that is true of anything mechanical. I don't believe in selecting a used car based on mileage. Frankly, if the car has UNDER 100,000 miles on it, I don't want to pay the premium price for that.
