convertabliles come gt also plus youll need to make the side skirts fit on a notch there like 3 inches too long been there done that plus some riviting
what do you mean? convertibles all started as a coupe. then sent to cars and concepts to be converted.....how is the side skirt too long?

it can't be.....but you say you did a swap , so i'm not saying thet you don't what your talking about.....i'm wondering if you got ground effects from a '91+ and put on a pre '90?????? shouldn't be too long though, just a different wheel opening.

but yes GT was hatch or 'vert

The ground effects are not too long, I have an 87 coupe and i took the ground effects off of an 88 GT and the fit right on. When you get the ground effects make sure you get the mounting rails or you will have to buy them and they get kinda expensive. Once you get them you just have to rvet them on and hang them. I htink they look pretty good, but I like the clean coupe look better.

LX hatch is my favorite. you dont scrape going up and down driveways, and with the hatch it doesnt look like just any ordinary car

If you can get an LX coupe, get that. But if not, go with the GT. You won't regret it. And either one with a 5-speed.

I would look for a notchback. I thought that ford had went to a hyper piston on the 91 and newer 5.0's. I know that my 88 LX had the forged pistons and has 227k on a stock motor and t-5.
