RE: Is it normal for headers to glow red hot?
10*-12* btdc....not atdc
you want the numbers to the right of the zero as you look down in front of the car.
from 0-20 range.
fp should be about 42 w/ the vac line disconnected.
36 w/ it connected.
and to answer the question....absolutely NOT should they glow red

I bet you your harmonic balancer isnt worn just really dirty. You know how the slashes for the timing are engraved so when th car is running get under there and with a piece of sandpaper hold it agianst it lightly. Dont puch to hard because you may not have a hand if it slips of. Thats what I did and BAM I was able to see the timing marks..... unless you already tried that and nothing happened. good luck.

Maybe its time for new fuel injectors and fuel pump also? I know you dont have a cam but that is still a great difference in the amount of air your car is recieving over stock.

i just chalk, or paint it then you wipe it off the paint, and the timing marks stay bright white.
lasts about a year or so.

I dont know yet, Im getting my code reader tomarrow, I do have new ones in my garage, but I wont put them in unless I know they are bad for sure.
Ima see what I can do what that timing issue, hopfully it will fix my problem.
So it should be between 12-13 BTDC? Right?
And thats to the right of the zero looking down in front of the car?
As for the injectors I will be getting those down the line when Im getting ready to buyu my SC, right now my main concern is getting it to run right, do the Maf Converstion and not blow anything up hehe.

Yes sir but its 12-13 Degrees ATDC its to the right of the 0 last night I was half alseep and said BTDC instead of ATDC.
I think getting your timing set right will make a huge difference, hopefully that fuel system will give you the supply that it needs, if not you are going to have to drop the tank which is a dirty job!
Your injectors should be fine for a while yet, I have a Xtra set of 19's if you want them or have a bad injector. When do you plan and SC and what are you goign to go with?
