Hard starting when warm

Hard starting when warm
With the recent cold weather in our neck of the woods I am running into an odd problem. The Stang is a 1989 GT with a stock 5.0 EFI (no mods)
When the car is bone cold it will start with no problem. Once it is warmed up, and I turn off the engine, it won't start. It will crank without problems, but sounds like either there is no spark, or no fuel. I can hear the fuel pump do its usual stuff, and once the engine is cold again it will start, let it warm up, shut off, and it cranks but sounds like either it is getting no ignition or it s not getting any fuel.
I have another symptom, that may be unrelated, and that is when accelerating from low RPMs I have an intermitttent misfire.
What do these symptoms mean ? Are they related ? When it doesn't start it almost feels like 'vapor lock' as in the old carburated cars.
Because of the weather I probably won't be able to work on it until Saturday, but any help would be appreciated.

RE: Hard starting when warm
maybe the ignition module? If you turned off the motor, and then are able to crank it over afterwards, then your starter should not be your problem. If it was the starter, it would NOT engage or spin the motor afterwards. I believe that the ignition module is your problem. I know that they do go bad,and that the heat that is created (if the grease? is lacking ),will not insulate the module from the heat. Causing it to fail. Once it becomes cold again will fire up. Has it every been replace before? Would be a good idea to replace it. This is just my opinion, could be wrong ,but I think it makes since. I'm still learning too.Good Luck

Stanglx2002. It is not the starter. It cranks just fine hot or cold. I ruled this out in the beginning of the problem.
Vfast, I'll try that, and post the results.
I think Racerx may have hit it, or it is closely related to an ignition problem of some sort. Some electronics run fine when they are cold. I remember computers, of years gone by, that when cold would boot and operate fine, but once they heated up they would experiance failures. Same principle here.
Don't laugh. This 16 year old Stang has 266k miles on it, most of the parts are the original , and it is still going strong.
Thanks for the input..
