so I imagine someone has had this problem also...so i got the new engine in and all hooked up. fix the throttle cable problem with a 1 inch spacer and a grinder to the bracket. and hell even got it running. my problem is that it only runs for aprox 5 minutes. narrowed it down to the distributor getting to hot and stops producing spark. havent tried the old distributor yet, but the one im using is a brand new MSD Billet distributor

Try the old one, if the problem goes away you know exactly where the problem is.

well put in the old distributor today and it cured the problem. I guess MSD is going to be getting a call from me to see what up with that thing.

my engine builder in Aneheim(FORD PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS) told me that they have had alot problems with MSD Distributors lately. He also said that the clearances in the distributor parts has gone out the door. They seem to like the Pacific Performance Distributors alot. Price is better and clearancees are tighter. Electronics are also very good. Just some info that you might like. They said that MSD was bought out some time ago,and quality was way down.

well thanks for the info, Ill look into that company. Now i just have to figure out if their going to take this paper weight back
