upper c/a problems

upper c/a problems
hi, today I tried to change my upper control arms and when I turned the bolt, I could see it twisting, I stopped before I broke it. I dont have any new bolts yet, but I was also wondering if the diff will twist if I take off the upper c/a's with the suspension at ride height?
