i would rather build my own setup, with some better parts something like TF high ports, AFR's, brodix or canfield ... then a custom grind cam and a systemax or victor intake... just my opinion

Same as above, Id rather mix and match the best parts, a custom ground cam will do better because it matches exactly what you need for your setup. Kits kinda tend to be mediocore, peice together what you see fit.

That is a great kit for the money and a power proven combination, and you would never get near that price with a custom setup hell the heads and custom grind will almost cost just as much then you still have to buy intake,rockers,etc....

Agreed. With a custom setup you may get some better numbers or you may not (depending on how well you do it). It will almost definately cost more though if you go with good parts.

im not off the blower idea for sure, but this kit is about the same price as a blower, and will perform just as well, it really seems like a good kit.. im not looking for max hp, if i wanted max hp id buy the parts i want.. i want a matching top end, complete kit, for a budget...this kit comes with EVERYTHING, bearings and rings and this is all i need to rebuild my motor and have good power.

But don't forget that you will also need the supporting mods to go along with it too...Like a fuel system,pump,injectors,regulator...then you will also need maf,tb,egr spacer etc.....
