Default Got some mechanical questions about my Stang.

Ok so i have what used to be an 87' 4 cylinder auto.I rebuilt my 91 5.0 H.O. that came out of a 91' Cougar.I put in a B303 cam when i

was rebuilding the engine.I swapped out the four banger and put in the 5.0, and through in a SVO tranny and a ford racing clutch.A

friend of mine and i stripped the Cougar and put the wiring harness in the Mustang, got it all hooked up running. It has a 7.5 rear end in

it i believe...only one wheel turns when you stomp on the gas, limited slip.I have an 8.8 just havent got that far yet.Anyways to the

point of this thread...Ive been driving this car for about two weeks and its been doing great. Its pretty fast off the line with the SVO

tranny so low geared...at least it was.I was drivng home from work today and noticed that the pony did seem like it was catching when

i hit the gas...it would revup to like 4 or 5 RPM's but it was like not moving like it should have.It didnt lurch ahead like usual, didnt have

the pull.So thats at about 55-60 MPH.So i pull into my town that i live in and down shift like normal, when i got into 2nd and 3rd gear

and wanted to speed up it just reved up to like 4or5 RPMS before it would start moving? What the heck is the problem?I know that

when i first start it it idles at about 2 to 2 and a half Grand then mellows out to about about a Grand and a half. Not sure if this is the

problem or not.I dont know what the deal is, any ideas? Thanks, Josh McDermott

Other than your idle issue is sounds to me like your clutch is toasted. If you could describe it better maybe some people will give some responses.

sounds like you have a decent amount of clutch slippage, aka toasted clutch.
