351 fi
I'm installing a 351w block in to my '67 Mustang, and am now considering converting the motor to fuel injection. My only concern is that Ford never made a car with 5.8L fuel injection (correct me if I'm wrong), and I don't think I can put a truck fuel injection system on the car. Would it be possible to install a 5.0L manifold onto a 351w block using a 5.8 computer from a truck for my fuel injection conversion? I don't want to spend 2 grand for as aftermarket fuel injection conversion system.
Thanks,
Psycho

hi,
i know it was tight when i tried the fitment of my 351w in my 67 coupe. that is with running a carb. you would most likely need an aftermarket hood to fit the FI manifold. im not sure about the truck computer, but the lower manifold of a 302 will not fit on a 351w.

but didn't the '95 cobra R come fuel injected. it had a 351. plus, in a 5.0 mag i have, a company (Keith.....) said they had efi systems for their crate engines. and they sold up to 514's. i think edelbrock even makes an efi kit for 351's. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on any of this. i won't learn if u don't prove me wrong

weren't the older lightnings (gen 1) 5.9L's also. oh, and sorry bout the last post. i didn't see the line about you not wanting to get the aftermarket conversion, i wouldn't have said about the edelbrock kit. but anyways, u could still look into the old cobra r setup.

Go to NAPA and get some motor mounts for a '69 Mustang with a 351W.
They are differant and they cause the engine to sit higher. Still a sort of tight fit but they feel better anyway.
Also, you need headers that are specific to 351W in the '67-'69 car or nothing fits right.
Hedman or Hooker both build them. I went with Hookers, fit was great..........
