So there is only 1 other dyno in town. It is a Mustang Dyno. They do not have the capabilities to make a custom chip though, and from my AFR chart i think i need to have a custom ship burned...since it looks like the computer is doing what it wants to.

your in the wrong gear...find another shop....
whats the best dyno to take your car too i was thinking of puttin mine on another dyno bc i didnt like my car being dynoed by the place i took it too they ran all imports and he didnt program the computer for my car i have another shop that has a mustang dyno is that better
that's totally insignificant. the dyno is not like Farakhan and another is David Duke. dynos dont discriminate because of make. that's just rubbish. you can take your car to any dyno and they will all give you a number. now, whether that number is right or wrong, that is all based on the dyno operator. One should stick with one dyno shop if reputable. case closed.

it is a t5 and the 1:1 is 4th. I brought that up to the guy and he said that with his dyno it didnt matter what gear you run in. we did most the testing in 3rd, but made one run in 4th and came up with the same numbers
the dyno operator told you that it doesnt matter what gear you run in? Quick..... get your car, put it on a trailer, and take it to the next reputable, note the word... REPUTABLE, shop and get the work done there. Ask around where the next reputable dyno shop is and take it there.

As for why you should test in certain gears, here you go....

1st and 2nd Gear: There is a lot of torque in the vehicle drive-train. This high tq creates friction between various tranmission components. In this gear there is a high tq effort at the tire tread. This large tractive effort causes the tires to be bent up just like a dragster's tire doing a burnout or taking off from the line. So all the above conditions absorb a lot of power before it gets to the actual tread. So power is < peak, at the threads. This is why you want to test in a 1:1 gear ratio.

3rd and 4th: now on these gears there is less tractive effort being absorbed by the drivetrain conditions. The tires becasue of the this condition are not getting as bent up and distorted as in the lower gears. Because of lower TQ that the drivetrain is absorbing more power gets transfered to the tires, there for resulting in better WHP numbers. So this is reached when tested with 1:1 gear ratio and not in the lower gears. A good dyno operator shiould know this and test the vehicle accordingly.

Or perhaps one like a Diablosport, we tuned one for a Lightning and had some nice results.
