Check all the sparkplugs, the wires and maybe even the rotor cap. You may be arcing so definately check the wires over to make sure they are not burnt and that you have all the seperators on.

I used to have the same problem, so i just did a complete tuneup. one of my spark plug wires had a tiny crack in the insulation and my points in my distrubtor cap were pretty rusty.

I'd check your wires (only replace with good quality ones), put new autolite platinum plugs in...

Also, check the distributor and pickup coil....If these are bad only get original ford or msd or such....no rebuilt ones...
