4.6 vs. 5.0

RE: 4.6 vs. 5.0
The 5.0 went up till 1995. After that ford switched to the 4.6 motors from 96-98. After that they kept the 4.6 but went with the PI setup, which was basically better heads, intake, and a few other things I think. (not positive on what all the PI cars, 99+, added)

personaly... i wouldn't trust a pre-modded car. especially a mustang. for all you know the last owner could have tried to mod it and didn't know what he/she was doing and screwed it up or did crazy **** in it and messed something up.

RE: 4.6 vs. 5.0
Yeh thats true , there a guy near me who used to be fords head mechanic, and i called them up and thats the reason why they won't work on 5.0's to many of them have work done, witout new owners knowing what is done to them..

I just bought the 95 cobra I have now and I've owned a 98gt as well as an 88gt. Having owned all three I would say that the differences really don't matter because you're going to have to put plenty of mods on whatever you go with to keep up with the newer stangs out...99 and up. Stock I would say that the fox body and SN 95 where about the same for speed, but the weight of my cobra seems to slow it down more. I about to start modding the cobra which is sock now and I'll have to see how it responds compared to the fox and 4.6.

There's something screwy with those 0-60 times. Now the last time that I checked the general reference is about every 100lb removed or added is .1 (a tenth) of a second, I didn't know that my car weighed 1000 lbs more than a coupe. Just checked my tag on the inside of my door and it says that the GVRW is 4240. I'd like to know what the GVRW of a hatchback is, but I'd really like to know.
