Well, me and my dad were in the garage the other day building this car ( 48' Chevy coupe). We take a brake and open up a drink... looking at his truck at this point. Next thing I hear is , " Hey, you wanna swap motors?" ... I was like "what the hell are you talkning about" , he goes, "Well, i've been thinking how bad it would be to have a nice lil' big block mustang around town and an old ford with an efi 5.0".. I was just shocked and awwed... cause that b.b. is his baby, sure its stock but its a 400b.b. w/ 47k on the clock out of an old galaxy 500. Its a nice stable motor and I figured I would drop some edelbrock components on it and we would do the swap, shave all the 5.0 emblems off, maybe take the gt molding off and have a mean *** lil sleeper. Just asking your all opinions, dont know If I want to go along with it or not. </P>

omg that would rock. seriously, you would smoke some fat *** or at least get a lot of recog from old school hot rodders. even cooler to me is the efi truck cause old school gone new is cooler to me...good technology with good body lines.

ya, I think a b.b. fox would rock as well! The truck is a 1950 F-100, so yeah, b...e...a...utiful!! Nothing like a fat fendered ford!

sorry but not a good idea bud. the efi in the old ride is a sweet deal. but hte bb in a newer stang isnt worth it. too heavy. youll upset the handling of the stang. and what would you gain from it?????? a built 5.0 motor can easily hit low numbers in the quarter.

not true.

460 drops in with little problem and doesn't totally jack the handling. Bit stiffer springs up front and it's fine

damm you, how do you guys build cars...... have you ever heard of weight displacement????? you want it as equal as possible by adding another 200lbs to a front of a car that has its majority of its weight in the front and hardly no weight out back. by adding this amount it will throw off the handling ability. it will want to understeer into bends. and it wont want to properly lift in the front for launching.

he's referring to the 'b...e...a...utiful' if I'm reading it right.

And I dunno how they go about doing it, but the extra 200 doesn't seem to be a big deal for them. Not much different than swapping a 5.0 into a Miata, about 200 pounds more up front.
