i've been trying to find weight distrbution numbers for these cars... i'm considering getting one as a roadrace car... any of you guys have percentages (57 front 43 rear, etc) and also just general curb weight in general?

You'll be hard pressed to find any information on this forum about making a mustang handle better. These guys know how to make a stang go really fast but turning is something that's never entered their minds. ~excuse the broad sterotyping~

Check out this site. It's VERY difficult to navigate but the information is WELL worth the effort.

turning and stopping are not good points for foxbodies.

but the stiffest is gonna be a notch, usually the roadrace stangs are cobra's and notchbacks.

they can handle really well, if you put the coin into them.

lowering springs, energy suspension poly kit, and kyb's make a world of difference.

A tubular K member will help the car turn as well. A bulky one like stock is limiting. Not to mention that with a light k-member youre moving the weight distribution backwards as well, which is what you were wondering about originally. Follow that up with Coilover suspension to get a nice stiff suspension to push the wheels on the road. To prevent chassis twist subframe connectors, strut tower brace (both front and rear if you want one in the hatch) and a roll cage and itll turn like a porsche.

if this is going to be a roadracer..than a new k-member is a must...you'll want to lower the engine and also set it back an inch plus

57% on the front is typical for a late '80's-early 90's Fox car.........
