You have to get your ac discharged before you can take it off. At summit racing they sell brakets to move your power steering where the ac is.

If you remove the quad shocks you will have bad wheel hop. If you get upper and lower control arms you can take them off.

Check jdsperformance or upr for U/L control arms.... they're pretty cheap, but not adjustable. still, they should help your wheel hop tremendously once you lose the quads.

You don't have to get it discharged, it's just "environmentally safe" to get it discharged before removing it. Go ahead and take it off, run a shorter belt, and get some stronger upper and lower control arms, then ditch the quads.

It is not "environmentally safe" It is supposed to be recoverd, your not supposed to vent any referigerant into the atmosphere. Do what you want though just dont tell people its ok lol. You are also required a license to charge, recover and buy referigerant but the idiots behind the counter at the auto parts store dont know that, so they sell you referigerant. Automobilies require a mvac license.
