Yea, but it has a A4 block. Heres the thing, it would be cheaper to just buy a new shortblock/longblock/cratemotor than to rebuild your own. By the time you take everything out, have a shop pull out all of your old internals, machine the block, and reinstall everything it will be more thanjust buying a shortblock. If you want that much reliable horsepower than you need a new block. And that block that DSS makes (the xr block or something) is expensive as hell (just like the a4, r302). Also, have you ever driven in a 500hp car? because 500hp will snap your neck in 4th gear. Personally, I think that a 351W w/ a 60mm streeet turbo will be PLENTY. You can easily achieve 500hp with that setup.

I have been checking around on the internet and I think I have decided to install a 408W, a stage 2 or 3 transmission, a stage 2 or 3 clutch, Nitto tires, a new fuel pump, and a turbocharger down the road.

P.S.-I think I may have forgot something but I can't think of what it is at the moment.

P.S.S.- Thanks for all your help with the previous post.

With only 13,000$ to spend i like the fact that u went with the 408! a Turbocharged stroker 800hp motor isn't impossible but unless u can do the assembling yourself minus the machine work, It will run you 20K or more. 2000$ for forged/balanced rotating assembly, 2000$ for heads that flow big numbers, 2300$ for Dart Iron Eagle Block (my preference) not to mention a deep sump oil pan, high flow oil pump, main cap support, cam, intake manifold, BIG injectors/maybe rails and so on. Installation costs are a bummer too. Your 408 stroker is great! good luck.

if you really plan on going with this just go to a 351w. It will be more reliable and easier to make the power. Plus they make all kinds of stuff for the conversion so it isn't something that would be the biggest pain in the world.

Edit: nevermind, didn't read that you wanted to go with a 408. That seems like a much better idea than a 302 or some stroker version of it.
