Default AFR heads...need help!

Im debating if I should go with AFR 165cc or 185cc...Im thinking 165's, Im not looking for an all out race car, I just want my fox to have some more kick to it, my buddy has a 97 LT1 TA with bolts on's and heads...eventually I would like to be stiff compitetion for him.

This will hopefully be my future set up
4:10's along with 555r's in the rear like a 275
king cobra clutch
Rebuild with an E303 cam and ARP Fasteners.
AFR Carb legal 165cc heads.
BBK LT's with BBK h-pipe(no cats) and Dynamax Bullet mufflers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully by the end of next year Ill be able to swap to a cobra manifold and possibly nitrous.

I just need someone to steer me in the right direction with these heads! Thanks again everyone I really appreciate all your help!

Also...what does it mean to have my pistons 'notched'?

go with the 165's. plenty of hp gains and you wont have to notch the pistons

street car prefer smaller valves for more lowend.
track car prefer large valves for more topend

i personally would learn how to drive. bring on a bolton LT1, im not scared and you shouldnt be also
for youre setup i would got with 165s AFRs and probably only need 24# injectors. since that setup isnt that wild

also 450hp and only high 11s? ouch that has to hurt. since stock motor plus good suspension/gears and 100 shot =11s. dont believe me ask RSW700 hes one to do it with a heavy auto. now get a stick and suspension and being doing it deeper

Im lucky my car is a 5spd, right now as she sits I probably wont see much better than a low 15 if Im lucky. Im not saying Im the best driver but Im not terrible. The tree at my local track is a .500 and I was cutting constant .015's...

Anyway Im looking for a mid-low 13 this year, I hope my goal isnt to far fetched, but I dont know what I can get out of my poopy 86 heads with boltons. Thats why I was looking for heads... anyway, anyone have more info that could share?
