Default Water temp sender

The car is a 1990 GT, anyone know what the resistance of the temp sender is when cold and when hot? I have a temp gauge that eventually pegs out but the car isn't over heating. Figure it's either the sender of the windings on the gauge.

if it's a factory gauge I would buy a set of mechanicial gauge set.there not very accucate anyway...I have a temp /oil pressure gauge set for 25.00 new in box and it's mechanicial

go to a parts store, get the 8 dollar temp sender, and im 75% sure thats the prob... it only takes like 5 minutes to replace, and thats if you dont know much about em

I guess it's time for a new stock gauge. I hate restorations...</P>
