Default New Ignition

What does it do exactly? Yea, stupid question to you but I know nothing. I thought the ignition is what you put your key in to start your car? If that's the case, why would people want a better one?

Default New Ignition

It's an ignition module that is mounted inside the engine bay, say from a company like MSD or Accel, that can adjust timing, but mainly provides more voltage to spark plug for more spark power to ignite all the compressed gas/air in the cylinder. Usually used with larger injectors or forced induction, the unit acts like a transformer and will increase the car's power due to a higher/more complete burn, thus driving the piston down harder, to turn the back wheels more easily.
