just look for the bacic things, like make shure every thing works(lights, horn, directionals, radio, top goes up and down smoothly, etc). check for rust and rot. make shure it runs and drives good. basicly look the whole car over and get down and check under the car look for leaks (hoses, exaust) you dont want to find all these problems after when u buy the car, these liitle problems can help you get the car cheaper. if theres alot of little stuff wrong with it, it might not be worth it in the long run.

look where the top meets the windshield...no folds in the vinyl

look at the seats

look at the seals where the window meets the top, and rear windows meet the front windows

does it have a cover to button over the top when down?

are all the buttons there? 4 on each side?? i forget and i just got rid of a vert 6 months ago

back glass or plastic? plastic is good for about 2 years

well, the seats were pretty worn, the top doesn't go back unless you give it some "assistance", it didn't run or look too good, and it sounds like it has an exhaust leak...... I found a 1990 GT Coupe, 5 Speed, with 161k for $3200, according to the ad it looks and runs good, I might try to go look at it tomorrow....
