Thanks guys, Yes the car is real clean, It is a good one to start with, no rust, the floor underneath still look new. It just needs a lot of little stuff, windshield, interior pieces, stuff like that. Just some good old TLC, then start modding it.

Fordguy,
Beautiful Black Stang! I like it!,...also good idea with the 3:90's I have been debating between 3:73's or 4:10's, but the 3:90's may be a good happy medium. Thanks for the advice.

Tinman, What the heck is in Alpena,..? I have been there before myself so I can say that.

Thanks again,
Darrin

thanks!

the 3.90's are a good medium. add a good 3000 rpm converter and you will be amazed at the difference it makes.

just make sure that you have a good trans. cooler.

oh- be easy on the overdrive in these aod transmissions... they don't have a reputation of being strong.

I agree with the tranny cooler, I am a firm believer in keeping an auto trans cool. In fact I have a aux cooler with a built in electric fan that I can install if I need to.

The tranny that I just installed has 5k on a rebuild with a shift kit, but I would like to have firmer shifts at WOT, it doesn't bang in like I like. Don't know if there is some kind of adjustment or anything, I will do some searches on the subject and see what I can find. When I get into the car further I plan on a stall converter as well.

Thanks!, I am not a fan of the grapics, they were added by the previous owner. They actually are a pretty good job, and are painted with Dupont Chrome Illusion so it changes color. They will have to stay on untill the Stang gets a new paint jopb, wish they were just stickers but they aren't. The headlight covers will probablly fly off next time I go down the highway, they are junk and will be gone soon.

Sounds like a great get-a-way! Good enough reason for me!

Thanks,
