Default Car acting horribly

I replaced my intake manifold this afternoon where everything seemed to go fine but when i went to start it up, it started for a second and then just died... The engine at times sounds horrible. I checked ignition timing as wel as I could without the car running but thats doesn't seem to help. The actual ignition off the distributor is right, checked a couple thousand times. Anyone know what this could be? No leaking from the injectors... Fuel pressure is there.. Idle is fine along with throttle.

PLEASE help me, ive hit a dead end and need help

Did you even remove the distributor?I've never removed a distributor for a intake swap. Why did you remove it if you did?

Like vfast said, and do the dizzy all over again. Make sure that you're at tdc on #1 on the compression stroke and drop in the distributor so it somewhat coincides with the #1 on the cap, and then follow the firing order. Someone like vfast or myself or any number of people on this forum can set up the distributor so any post can be #1, thus no marking and screwing around with numbering wires and marking the distributor. It can idle fine, but if the firing order is off, it's going to run like crap. And there is no such thing as being a "tooth off". It's either on #1 followed by the firing order or it's off. Also check all your wiring, wiring plugs, etc.

I never took out the distributor, I marked where it was so when I rotated it to get the lower plenum up I could put it back, which I did.

Which pig tail? If its the little chip at the end, no... I never removed that I just shut off the car and rotates the distributor then started it back up which no luck...

There was one thing... There was a little wire that went into the drivers side of the lower manifold (cobra manifold) that has no place on my new track heat manifold... Imwondering ifthis might be something to sense fuel throughout and since it has no place on the new manifold fuel is not being mixed properly.. something along those lines...

PLEASE let me know what you guys think, I appreciate the input...

I just want to make it clear that I did not take the distributor out at all, just rotates back and forth.. in case that matters.

okay, call me absolutely silly for saying this, but i dont know what they are called, I have a 289 myself. I have a friend who had the exact same prob, and it turned out he had not put a sensor in the right place because the new intake manifold had a plug in it that he had not noticed. Check out the front drivers side of the lower manifold, and make sure you have two electrical lines going to it. One mounted in the vertical section, and the other, i believe rear of the first bolt. I hope thats it! Good Luck if its not!
