Default Fuel Filter Question

Hello, I am in the process of converting my 89 mustang to a 351 windsor intake and carb setup. I was wondering of the original factory fuel filter would work with a carb setup or if it was designed to only work with the fuel injection based on the fuel pressure. I am going to run 3/8 fuelline because that is what the fuel pressure regulator and carb are set up for, is the factory fuel line 3/8 or only 5/16? If its only 5/16 then I wouldnt want to use the factory fuel filter anyway, thanks, Dave

Default RE: Fuel Filter Question

I have decided to get a canister type fuel filter and mount it to the rear subframe before the electric pump. Something like the fram kit that has a reuseable element with a 3/8 input and output. No sense running a 5/16 fuel filter on a 3/8 line.

That is just what you should be doing. Make sure your pump isn't going to pump more than your filter can pass.
I like the Aeromotive (Earl's) filters as you can run 2 lines in and 1 out as well as the idea that the filter element is made by Fram and widely sold.......
