if the block you are using is old, i would bore it .030 over to clean the block up and if you did that you would get the .030 over kit. for the cam, it all depends on where you want the power.

well first I would look else where for the kit such as x2c,dss,probe etc....ok a few suggestion on the 347..one is they tend to not last long as far as mileage..also I have exp. rods breaking lately because of the pistons with there small contact area..on the other hand they make great power..but I tend to send people to be 331 which is a great engine...in order to get 500hp you will need a deep pocket so to speak with either a s/c, turbo or nitrous..a N/A 331 or 347 would hardly be streetable...a set of afr 185's would need to be had with alot of attention in the bowl area..none of those cam will get you in a 500hp rating unless with a power adder.. the 500hp seems to be throw'd aroung like it's nothing but is hard to obtain and make it streetable to have fun with

ok so i take it the 347 is highly unreliable, i might just take my 302 the way it is now and dump about 150hp of nitrous into it for kicks and giggles when i need them or is there any other suggestions on wut i should do to get some decent power increase from my engine

I would get a 351w block and stroke it to a 377+ c.i. forat least400+hp then add a power adder for more. 351w blocks are much stronger than 302 blocks.dont get me wrong 302's can take abuse but a 351 is beefier. And dss makes a great girdle to make it handle even more!

if you buy the h/i/c/etc they will work on a 347 stroker if you want to stroke it later on when it isnt a dd. so i would get the h/i/c/etc first. they will give you more power too.
