Default pcv for a what??

okay, after looking forever for the damn thing, i found the pcv. pulled it out, and boy, is it in rough shape. ran down to get a new one, and low and behold, it appears the one i HAVE is for a 4.2-4.4 liter CHEVY/GM. whats up with that. according to Fram book, the 5.0 should use filter FV198. the one i have is FV178. the difference - the fords has two vacuum line (F), and the chevy has the single 3/8 inch hose that plugs into it.

Why then, is it possible that im using what appears to be a chevy pcv? anyone else have a set up for that?
