u have to use the idler pulley unless you have a an adjustment bar for your alternator. just rip out the lines for ti and plug the back of the heads with a bolt. then u have to take it off the h pipe and cap it of or weld it shut or like i did crimp it shut in a vise. i just gutted my smog pump. As soon as i find the right size belt im gonna bypass it and take it off ;)

what about all the vaccum lines and the sensors on the back of the shock tower?

get a shorter belt and unbolt the smog pump from the block. Then pull the rubber hoses out. Then unbolt the smog tube going to the H pipe and pull it out also the wiring on the back of the passenger strut tower can be pulled. Take the vaccum off the EGR valve and block the hole with a cap then there is a vaccum line that goes to the back of the upper intake for vaccum cap that off too

ok thanks, should i just unplug the sensors on the shock tower? and leave it like that?

RE: Smog crap has to go

ok this is what i did, i took the hoses out for the smog, i caped the head pipe and the pipe that goes to the exhaust for now, i caped the egr vaccum port, and the port of the back of the upper intake, i took the vaccum lines off at the big black conector inseted of pulling everything off of the shock tower, i left the sensors pluged in. and im reseting the computer now, so in a lil bit we will see what it does.

you can unplug the sensors since they arent doing anything now

RE: Smog crap has to go

well i figured it might read a code, but than again its going to give me a code with or without them pulged in right?

RE: Smog crap has to go

shouldnt bc the egr is plugged so the computer thinks the egr is closed all the time
