Yellow crap in the crankcase
 

I have yellow white crap that looks kind of like mayonaise all over my crankcase. Its under valve cover and it comes out when I pull out the dipstick. I see this stuff on dodge trucks that are brand new all the time. I'm just trying to figure out what it is. Any idea.

My motors pretty shot also, I'm burning about a quart every 500 miles now.

I know for a fact that 5.2L dodge's have this **** in them when you open the filler cap. It's just cause of the crappy PCV system they use. But anytime you see that when you pull the dipstick, I'm thinkin'... Head gasket? Unless you do alot of short trips in cold weather.

My pcv system is really loose, maybe it has something to do with that. I'll try wrapping tape about it so it will fit better. I just replaced both head and intake gaskets a couple months ago. I'll do a compression check but I don't think its them. I know my rings are where the oil is seeping though. I have .04 clearance between the piston rings and the cylinder wall.

Know what? About the dodges? I'm an automotive apprentice. Maybe try putting a new PCV grommet in the hole. While your at it put in a new PCV valve. Also, check the system for operation by pulling the TB to filler neck tube off the TB. Hold your finger over the tube for a few seconds with the engine running and then let go. You should hear a sucking sound as air rushes back into the crankcase. Also what car it?

Blown head gasket...whipped coolant mixed with oil looks just like that. Stop driving it and get it fixed.

sounds like blown head gasket to me too, i've never had mayo looking oil

STOP driving the car!!! You have aleast a intake gasket that didn't propperly seal or a BAD head gasket!! Need to fix ASAP! You WILL Damage the engine if you keep driving it!! Do a compression check on the cylinders and a pressure check on your coolant system. The intake gaskets have a history of moving on you if your not careful. What type of gasket did you use on the front and rear of intake. Did you put any silicone on the them? Your complete engine(drain the oil,clean the oil valley were the lifters are,intake,heads,valve covers) and coolant system(radiator,hoses, water pump etc.)Good luck!![:o]

I measured it with a feeler guage when I had the heads off.

My compression came back as 135-145 all the way around, this is a wet test. Same as it was after I replaced everything. I don't have access to an air compressor to do a leak down test but I'll do one tomorrow at work. I have the same amount of coolant as I always did and I would think if it was leaking my engine would overheat. I have a sunpro guage and my car stays at a constant 190.

I used felpro gaskets and I used silocone on all of them. For front and rear I just put large amounts of silicone and theres no leakage.

Do you still think its a intake or head gasket? I'll talk with a tech at work tomorrow also, see what they think. I really can't disassemble the car again, I need it just to go back and forth to work. But if it goes, it goes.
